Procurement Procedure

Our consideration of the information supplied or proposed by you will be carried out as a rule in accordance with the procedures described below:

  • The process of becoming a supplier starts with a proposal submitted to Sumitomo Chemical, which will contact prospective suppliers following a study of their proposal. Then, if more detailed information is required, we will request more detailed documentation. We examine the material again and contact the supplier again regarding the results of the examination. If we might procure from the supplier, we will request specifications and quotations. If necessary, we may check local manufacturing plants and other facilities. After studying the quotation and confirming the specifications, we will negotiate terms and conditions, including prices, and conclude a basic procurement contract. Finally, we will place an order.
