Nihon Medi-Physics, established as a 50-50 joint venture by Sumitomo Chemical and GE Healthcare, is contributing to people's health through R&D, manufacture and supply of diagnostics indispensable for the early discovery of such diseases as cancer and chronic ailments that are becoming increasingly common in aging societies.
In vivo radio diagnostics, the company's major products, are used in highly specialized fields like nuclear medicine. By looking at images on a display showing radio diagnostics congregating to specific organs or tissues after being administered by special inspection equipment, the shape of an organ, blood circulation, metabolism, tumors if any, and other diagnostic information can be obtained.
The company is pursuing new business possibilities responding to needs in the medical care area based on a "consumer satisfaction" principle and for the benefit of an aging society.
