Our Exhibition

Light + Building, held biennially in Frankfurt, Germany, is one of the world’s largest trade fairs for lighting and building technology, featuring leading-edge products and technologies. In 2014, 2,458 exhibitors from 50 countries and regions, mostly from Europe, exhibited their new products and ideas, attracting about 210,000 visitors from around the world, an 8% increase from 2012.

Following an exhibit in 2012, Sumitomo Chemical has again brought in world-renowned Japanese lighting designer Motoko Ishii as the art director of its exhibition booth. Leading with the tagline "The Most Advanced Polymer OLED", Sumitomo Chemical exhibited a piece entitled "OLED COSMOS", that demonstrated the beauty of leading edge polymer OLED lighting to its full advantage.
By bringing together polymer OLED lighting panels with various colours to depict a feeling of being out in the cosmos, the designer of "OLED COSMOS" aimed to evoke the unlimited future possibilities for polymer OLEDs. The many brilliant colours of light emitted by Sumitomo Chemical’s polymer OLED lighting panels mesmerized visitors to the booth.
