LED Grades of SUMIKASUPER LCP

LED grades with high reflectivity and high mechanical strength, suitable for power LED devices

LED grades are injection-molding materials to provide high reflectivity and high mechanical strength, which were developed based on Sumitomo’s unique SUMIKASUPER LCP and compounding technology to meet the demands of power LED devices.

Features

  • Excellent heat resistance
    The LED grades exhibit excellent heat resistances derived from higher thermal performances of their base resin, SUMIKASUPER LCP. They are suitable for high power LED packages because heat aging does not decrease reflectivity of LED packages made of SUMIKASUPER LCP.
  • Self- extinguishing without flame retardants
    The LED grades are rating at V-0(UL94) without any flame retardant. And SUMIKASUPER LCP have the highest limiting oxygen index among commercial high performance plastics.
  • Good moldability
    The LED grades exhibit good injection-moldability even in the thin wall mold as well as standard SUMIKASUPER LCP grades.
  • Low water absorption
    SUMIKASUPER LCP has the lowest water-absorbing property. Sumitomo’s LED grades, therefore, have good characteristics in moisture reflows.

The LED grades are qualified and being evaluated for TV backlight, lighting, and connector for lighting etc.

SZ4709 is for the AuSn eutectic soldering and SZ6709L is for the surface mounting.
