Resorcinol (raw material for adhesives in automobile tires, wood products, UV absorbers and flame retardants) Rubber Chemicals

RESORCINOL

Resorcinol is a critical raw material for reinforced rubber product adhesion systems, including natural and synthetic rubber to steel, nylon, polyester, aramid, glass and rayon fibers employed in tires and industrial products including belts and hose. In addition, resorcinol is a critical ingredient in wood bonding adhesives requiring room temperature cure and waterproof performance, and resorcinol is an essential raw material for many specialty chemicals including ultraviolet light absorbers, fire retardants, polycarbonates, agricultural chemicals, urethane elastomers, dyestuffs and others.

SUMITOMO CHEMICAL is the global leader in resorcinol production with two environment friendly proprietary technology plants located at Chiba and Oita Japan. This unique process technology has been employed in commercial scale plant operations since 1981 providing secure resorcinol supply to customers for long term. In addition, SUMITOMO CHEMICAL stocks resorcinol in strategic network facilities worldwide designed to minimize delivery in-transit time and transport costs to our customers.
